What-we-cover

Providing health insurance is all we do. And to keep things ultra-simple, we’ve built just one policy that covers you and your family, whatever life throws your way.

What’s included in your Kindred policy

What’s not included

The main things that are not covered by your Kindred policy are:

Kindred-IconDoodles Calendar
Long-term conditions

These are known as ‘chronic conditions’. They’re ongoing conditions that can usually be controlled but not cured, like diabetes and asthma.

Kindred-IconDoodles EyeSight
Cosmetic treatment

We don’t cover cosmetic or aesthetic procedures. However, there are certain instances where we will cover the cost, such as for procedures needed to restore your appearance after an accident or surgery (if it took place after your policy started).

Kindred-IconDoodles Ambulance
Emergency treatment

We don’t cover admissions to A&E, or treatment in an Intensive Care or High Dependency Unit following admission to A&E.

A note about pre-existing conditions

When you apply for our health insurance, you can choose between two types of underwriting: Moratorium and Full Medical Underwriting (FMU).

Moratorium is the simplest option: you don’t need to fill out a health questionnaire and any pre-existing conditions from the last 5 years will be excluded from your policy for 2 years.

With FMU, you’ll fill out a health questionnaire, telling us about any pre-existing conditions from the last 5 years. We’ll carefully review each condition and tell you which we can and can’t cover.

You can find the full list of exclusions in our Policy Document.
