How excess works
What is an excess?
An excess is the amount that you’ll pay towards treatment when you have a claim on your policy.
How does it work?
You’ll only pay the excess amount once per person per policy year, regardless of how many claims you make. If the treatment for a claim rolls over from one policy year to the next policy year, you won’t have to pay the excess amount again on that claim.
What excess should I choose?
The higher the excess amount you choose, the lower your quote will be. However, it’s important to choose an excess amount that you could afford to pay at short notice if you need treatment.
